Oliver Warshaw

I’m a Photographic and Digital Artist based in South West Cornwall, a stunning location which offers an abundance of creative opportunities through its extraordinary land and seascapes.

All my artworks start with photographs I have taken, some of which I select to use as prints with some minor editing. However, in the main, I use the photographs as the starting point for my digital artworks. This involves a creative journey that sometimes ends up as I had originally planned, but often takes on a life of its own and leads me down rabbit holes to places I had never envisaged. I have deliberately tried not to let a single style take over my work as I really enjoy the freedom of letting an image take me where it needs to go. 

On the photographic side I tend to favour Impressionist Photography and use the Catalan photographer Pep Ventosa’s technique of blending multiple images. I also like to use Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) to create interesting, atmospheric images.

For the Digital Art images I use a wide number of camera, image editing, drawing and painting apps to get the results I am looking for. These apps also allow me to create the variety of styles I enjoy producing.
